A 5 minute peek... Creating a work space

Work space deskMy first mini blog with a quick glance into creating my workspace on a budget and styling to create a boho feel.

I wanted something a little quirky on the walls and my inspiration came from Pinterest (see below)

Ikea kitchen with half painted walls

(pinned from dailydreamdecor.com)

Painting this was harder than expected but I think if you give anything a try you will achieve the result in the end! I'm so into block wall colours at the mo but liked the messy edge look so thought I'd give it a go.

So the actual desk in my new work space is some old scaffold boards...literally from a building site! (hubby is a builder),  sawn to size, quick sand and clean and ready to go. The legs I bought second hand from ebay...if you search ikea trestle legs you may find these on Facebook marketplace, ebay or other local selling sites or you could buy new from IKEA x

With the walls in colour block fashion I knew I wanted to create a hanging line of art with mini pieces..i found the fabulous artist @leanne_jones_drawings who creates the most perfect cool pieces and has recently added some mini prints that work so well for this kind of mini gallery wall Mini prints cool sketchesI also knew I wanted a mini macrame  piece here and an awesome ittle biz for a bespoke macrame pieces is the lovely @fallonknowles ....here's the gorgeous mini piece she created for me x

I used a piece of fishing line which is almost invisible, secured to the wall at both ends and pegged the prints onto the line..  You can't have anything too heavy here though else the line will lag.

I have styled a gold metal chair in my space and inspiration was from online shops like this one from @audenza.com.

but without the budget I had to find an alternative. The chair in my loft space is a used one I bought from www.thesalesroom.com, its a great auction site to pick up vintage pieces at affordable prices. It was originally a yucky lime green but with a little tlc and spray paint it now works perfectly to add a little glamour to the rustic tones. Of course I've draped one of my fab sheepies here to add some comfort and warmth...the one featured is a natural grey stunner!

I hope you enjoyed my mini blog...a quick snippet of info into how this space was created but if you have any questions please be sure to send me a dm @daniellelouisedoughty or comment below x

Thanks for reading x
